| Work on third lake at Gath resort commences , to be completed in next six months | | | Early Times Report
BHADERWAH,Dec 1 : Nowadays lake tourism has become a passion world over and it is regarded as the biggest revenue generating industry. Same is the case with our state also, that has brought boom in our lake tourism. Lake tourism at present is considered as backbone of our state economy. Millions of tourists are attracted every year to visit the valley, particularly for Dal Lake which is a city lake with all facilities and comforts. Tourists enjoy scenic journey around the lake and a boat trip towards various lake islands. Many of them are bird lovers and they visit Lake Hokarsar bird sanctuary to watch migratory birds coming from various parts of the world. The fascinating and attractive beauty of the Dal Lake is the presence of terraced Mughal Gardens and attractive religious places at the rim of high mountains around the lake, decorated with lovely cascades and fountains. built in 16th and 17th centuries by Mughal emperors. Keeping in view the attraction of tourist towards Lakes in Kashmir Valley Bhaderwah Development Authority in 2006 when Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad was CM of the state and sitting legislative of Bhaderwah assembly took keen interest in construction of water Lakes in Bhaderwah town which is lush with natural resources. Two water lakes were developed at Gath Lake resort due to which flow of tourists increased in Bhaderwah . Due to this the revenue of BDA also increased and they also provided boating facility there . Now BDA is constructing third water Lake in Gath lake resort with the intention of exploiting the hidden tourism potential of the area which will attract more and more tourist to Bhaderwah valley . CEO BDA Angraz Singh Rana says two lakes were not enough as there is more demand from tourists who want to ride boats. The BDA is going to construct third facility so that there is space for national and state level competitions of swimming as in the past BDA provided to schools and colleges . AEE BDA Fayiaz Ahmed Metha who is personally supervising the construction work said it was a high profile Lake with facilities of boating , fountain and music round the clock. He said water of river Gupta Ganga would be diverted towards lake so that it will give a natural look because river water is neat and clean and added in next six months Lake will be ready. |
