Jammu, Dec 1: Despite of record gathering in Narender Modi's rally thousands of people failed to reach the venue of the Lalkar rally due to traffic restrictions on Sunday.Though it was the historical Rally in Jammu and Kashmir with the crowd of over a lakh people, but many of people returned back home due to traffic diversions and security restriction in the entire city. The city was converted in a cantonment for the entire day by the district administration. All the crossings were sealed with Barbed wires, markets of Jewel chowk and around were closed and the diverted traffic had restricted the common men to visit the venue of Narender Modi's Rally. "It was pre planned by the state administration to control flop the rally of Narender Modi, but the people of the state have proved that no one can stop them to visit Modi's Rally," said Ashwani Gupta, a student. "If the administration would not have restricted the traffic, the crowd would have been more than double." Meanwhile the main bridge of the River tawi and fly over was closed for vehicular traffic for about six hours and the buses for Katra, Reasi, Udhampur were not allowed to enter the city, they were all moving back from Manda. Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Jammu said, "The restriction were more as the gathering was more in this rally, we have restored the traffic diversions and restriction after the rally was over." |
