JMC holds awareness camp on adulteration of milk
12/6/2013 10:57:44 PM
Et Report
KATHUA, Dec 6: Continuing drive against menace of adulteration of milk, Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Dr. Vinod Sharma held an awareness camp at Channi today.
The camp was attended by prominent Milk Shop Owners, Milk Vendors and general public.
All the shopkeepers were asked to keep milk testing machines in their shops for checking of milk as well as display the rate list of milk and the contents of milk i.e. fats, SNF etc. As we all know that the Cow Milk is good for all especially for Children as well as Old aged persons, it is also advised to the general public to give preference to the Cow Milk for drinking purposes. Under FSS Act, awareness camps are an important component regarding adulteration while checking; it has been found that milk vendors are mixing overnight milk with fresh morning milk because of ignorance resulting in decrease in SNF. During the camps, all milk vendors and Shopkeepers were advised to avoid milk adulteration.
