| Why to travel Ahmadabad to debate Art 370: Dr Jitendra | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 6: As there is no let up over the 'wordy war' over Article 370 and the heat continued further with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accepting challenge from Mr Modi to have debate on the issue, the BJP today countered his remarks asserting that 'his (Omar) bid is only to get media attention. When asked by media persons for a response to chief minister Omar Abdullah's statement that he was ready to go to Ahmadabad for a debate on Article 370, BJP National Executive Member & J&K Chief Spokesperson Dr Jitendra Singh while turning down Omar's remarks 'ready to go to Ahmadabad' said that churning out dramatic or school debate phrases like "ready to go to Ahmadabad" only smacks of lack of seriousness and a naive craving for media attention. He said one does not need to travel all the way to Ahmadabad to debate Article-370 and if Chief Minister is sincere about joining the debate, he should right here answer the questions raised on the issue by BJP and several social organizations. "BJP will not grant the media-savvy J&K chief minister the privilege of sharing a platform with Mr Narendra Modi simply for publicity, quipped Dr Jitendra Singh. "Being only a State-level or regional leader, Mr Abdullah should first debate it out with regional counterparts in his State, he added. Dr Singh said that it goes to the credit of Narendra Modi that he has succeeded in initiating the long awaited country-wide debate on Article-370 which has stirred panic among the National Conference leadership and sent the Congress leadership into. |
