12/6/2013 10:58:59 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 6 : Jammu State Morcha (JSM) leaders including Prof. Virender Gupta, H B Khajuria and Nathu Ram Gupta in a joint statement condemned Omar Abdullah for his statement that issue of State's accession shall be reopened if any move is made to abrogate Article 370. They questioned that on whose behalf Omar Abdullah is giving such type of statements? They said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have not given him the mandate to speak on such type of delicate issue that determines the relationship of J&K with India. The JSM leadership said that National Conference has merely 28 members in the State Assembly out of 87. They emphasized that the accession of the State is not linked with article 370. The relationship with India of J&K is not going to be effected if the article 370 does not exist. Whether Article 370 exists or not, the accession of J&K with India is irrevocable. JSM advised Omar Abdullah to read the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and that of Indian Constitution and also have the knowledge of developments that took place after 1947. He should also go through the accord that was reached between his grandfather and Smt Indra Gandhi. They further said that Article 370 is against the interests of people of Jammu and Ladakh regions, also against the women deprived sections of the society. As the Industrialists and other big concerns feel discouraged to open their units in the state, because of the article 370 the progress of the State is blocked. JSM asked the Congress party as being the collusion partner of National Conference in the Government to take serious note of the statements made by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah.
