| Is ISI preparing another Keran type situation on LoC? | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Dec 6: Intelligence agencies believe Pakistan ISI in collaboration with Pakistan army, commanders of the terrorist outfits including Hizbul Mujahideen, Laskar and Jaish-e-Mohammad and members of Border Action Teams(BAT) has been planning to repeat Keran episode either in Poonch or in Rajouri district. For the last many months Pakistan army has failed to felicitate the terrorist groups to push into Indian territory as the Indian army has fully blocked the traditional infiltration routs and keeping surveillance on the LoC by taking help of highly sensitive gadgets equally effective even during the night. Sources said in the month of October, Hafiz Sayeed, Salahuddin and Moulana Azahar chiefs of Lashkar, Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammad had visited the forward areas and held meetings for three days with the army commanders, militant commanders and members of BAT . Sources added that in these meetings it was decided to push maximum terrorists at a time so that some may engage the Indian soldiers while others can attempt safe entry into Indian soil. "Our men are fully prepared to foil any mischief from across the border and if attempted they will get a befitting response 'said senior BSF and army officers on the sidelines of official functions held recently in Poonch and Rajouri. In the month of November at Poonch, Lt Gen Hooda GOC White Knight Corps had said that about 200 terrorists are desperately trying to intrude and between 20-25 training camps are functioning along the Line of Control. Sources further added that every army unit deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) across the border has been giving training and shelters to the militants and also assigned the tasks to help these to enter the Indian territory whenever they get chance. Sources added that 'forced intrusion bids may take place during next few months from Mandi and Balakot sectors in Poonch district and these intruders, if successful in entering into the India soil, were directed to attack the security force convoys and installations. Senior army and BSF officials responsible for the security of Line of Control in both the districts are of the view that infiltration attempts may increase in the next few weeks. "Security forces keeping surveillance on the movement/activities of anti national elements and their supporters. All the vehicles /persons moving on Mughal road and other highways were under regular frisking" said Danesh Rana , DIG police Rajouri-Poonch range. |
