Jammu, Dec 6: A constable posted in Billawar Police Station allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous stuff at his residence in Billawar. The identity of the deceased has been established as Constable Mohammad Farooq (26) son of Abdul Mohammad, resident of Billawar and was posted in Billawar police station, police said, adding, "he succumbed during treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H)." When contacted, Station House Officer (SHO), Billawar Inspector Daljeet Singh said that Farooq was on two days leave and his family members spotted him unconscious on Thursday who immediately shifted to nearby hospital. After initial treatment there, Farooq was referred to GMC& H for advance treatment. "Statements of Farooq could not be recorded as his condition was stated very critical", said SHO however, a case in this connection has been registered and further investigation is on. |
