| Agitated Panchs, Sarpanchs announce poll boycott | | | Kathua, Dec 6: Agitated panchs and Sarpanchs along with the villagers of five Panchayats passed a resolution to boycott the forth coming elections of Parliament and assembly to lodge their protest against the non completion of promised and sanctioned various developmental projects in the Dhar Manpur.
While holding the protest, the protesters EX Sarpanch Sadanand Sharma, Sarpanch Gyan Chand, Sarpanch Maru Ram, and panchayat Chairman Rattan Chand expressed strong resentment against the district administration and state government for having failed to construct the Dhar Manpur link road of 20 Kilometre which has been lying in dilapidated condition since 1959. They also highlighted the worst and ill medical facility due the functioning of dispensaries which are running without doctors and medicines. They also said that the promises of the Government to make the Dhar-Manpur as Model village are still on the paper and there seems no headway in this direction. The people with one voice resolved not to participate in the assembly and parliament elections till the demands are solved the further added. |
