| PDD casual labourers demand release of pending dues | | | Early Times Reports
Jammu, Dec 9 : Demanding immediate release of Rs.6.5 crores for pending wages, Publish list in newspaper and PDD website and first day salary of every month, PDD casual laborers today staged a demonstration under the banner of All J&K Casual Laborers Union (AJKCLU) PDD, against the state government in front chief engineer office. According to press release, AJKCLU state president Mohd Shafi Bhat said that the concerned AEEs and Executive Engineers had not cleared the verification of casual labors. He said that the Jammu office as a mark of resentment for non- release of Rs.6.50 crores fund in favor of need based/ casual laborers, which had been sanctioned by government vide cabinet decision. He reminded that the worthy chief secretary, Jammu and Kashmir promised in April, 2013 that the pending wages of all workers of union would be released April 30. He further said that MoS power Vikar Rasool promised the same release wages in Eid. But nothing had been done so far workers were left with no other choice than to go strike for the fulfillment of their basic demands. "The record of workers has not been sent by respective Executive Engineers to chief engineer Wing till data" said Bhat. |
