| Infighting in Cong likely to intensify after LC panel discuss remarks against Chairman | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 9: Infighting in the Congress likely to be intensified with the Privilege Committee of the Legislative Council initiated the process to take action against the then PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din, who had allegedly given irresponsible statement against Chairman of the Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra. Taj Mohi-ud-Din, who is presently looking after the portfolio of Health, Medical Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, while addressing a press conference in the month of November 2012, had allegedly given irresponsible statement against Chairman of the Legislative Council. Taj at that time was Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control. Today during the meeting of the Privilege Committee of the Upper House where notice was served to ex-Army chief General V K Singh, Congress members were very particular to take issue of Privilege Motion moved against Taj Mohi-ud-Din. Insiders said that Compact Video Disk (VCD) of Taj Mohi-ud-Din press conference was played before the members of the Privilege Committee so that further action should be taken against the Minister for his remarks against Chairman. Insiders in the Congress said that issue of the Taj was taken in the meeting only to further open the case. Those who have been pursuing Taj's case are supporters of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Saif ud Din Soz. Taj has confrontation with Soz so his (Soz's) supporters want to teach him a lesson. Recording of the press conference, which was addressed by Taj Mohi-ud-Din in the month of November last year, had already been sent to the high command to take cognizance of such irresponsible behaviour of the senior party Minister. |
