ET REPORT Jammu, Dec 13: On the instructions of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Chairperson, e-Court committee, the members of said committee comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice Tashi Rabstan, Members, e-Committee and others from High Court of J&K, have sent proposal to the e-Committee, Supreme Court of India, Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice to take up matter with J&K state government for installation of Video Conference facility in all the District Court Complexes, Central and District jails across the state. According to spokesperson members including Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice Tashi Rabstan, Members, e-Committee, Khalil Choudhary, Central Project Coordinator, High Court J&K send the proposal to the e-Committee, Supreme Court of India, Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice has sought assistance to take up the matter with the J&K Govt for installation of Video Conference facility in all the District Court Complexes, Central and District jails across the state. "In this modern age of advance technology, it is a need of video conferencing facility which will help in speedy Justice delivery system, members underlined and said, "through this facility the High Court can supervise and monitor the Sub-ordinate Judiciary without heavy burden on Government exchequer and without time consuming." At the same time, Central and District Jails across the state are also required to be equipped with video conference facility. Cases of under trial accused especially having a security threat and the hardcore criminals can be heard by the concerned Court through video conference. |
