| 'DSEJ in switch off mode', influentials transferred to city | | Office in mess as Jandrah School loses science students | | Bivek Mathur Jammu, Dec 13: The phone number of Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ) is in switch off mode for the last two to three days Sources believe the office is under tremendous pressure from the concerned ministry for various reasons. They added that the office of the DSEJ is in mess due to illogical transfers and posting of the teaching faculty from city peripherals. Yesterday a deputation of about 40 persons from village Jandrah in Kishenpur Manwal area shouted slogans against the Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ) Tushar Kanti Sharma in his office premises for ordering illogical transfers and posting of some influential teachers to the Jammu city owing to which students of the village are forced to quit their studies midway. According to the deputation, three lecturers, one master grade and a teacher was transferred from Higher Secondary School Jandrah to different locations of the Jammu city by the Director School Education aberrantly few days back after which the students of the school are forced to quit their studies midway as the exams are to be conducted in February-March and no new teacher has joined the school till now. They also said that a teacher who was ordered to join High School Sagoon near the village is withdrawing the salary from the state exchequer, but has not attended the school for the last many days. The deputation members also told an official in DSEJ office that the Degree college Jandrah is also being operated in the building of Higher Secondary School Jandrah having a total strength of about 500 college as well as plus two students. "The strength of science graduates is very poor in the area due to shortage of teaching staff here", one of the deputation members said. The transferred include three lecturers Poonam, Richa and Bandana of Physics, Chemistry and Botany subjects respectively, one master grade and a teacher namely Banarasi Dass. "After listening to the demands of the deputation, a junior official in DSEJ office however assured immediate solution to the problem which has arisen in the village, but the deputation wanted to know why the phone of the DSEJ is in switch off mode, which could not be answered by the official. The village deputation member told Early Times that they have been asked to visit the director's office Monday to chalk out a strategy for the problem that has arisen in the village. |
