| NSS organizes Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan rally | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 13: In order to fulfill the aims of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) to make aware about the importance of education for the development of human resources and for overall progress of the nation a "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Rally" was organized by NSS unit of Vivekananda College of Education at Lakhanpur. According to press release, the rally was started from the college and ended at government Middle school, Budhi and the rally was flagged off by Dr. Anju Sharma Principal of the College. Shiv Sharma was the chief guest and Angrez Chand was the guest of honour. The NSS volunteers presented various cultural items like welcome song, Skit, Poems, Dogri Dance, Punjabi Dance etc. before the audience. The students also presented speeches focused on providing quality elementary education including life skills. Speaking on the occasion, Angrez Chand said that Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan aims to provide useful and relevant education to all children below 14 years by bridging the socio-economic, regional and gender gaps with the involvement of community in school management. Principal of the College Dr. Anju Sharma said that SSA strives for fullest harnessing of spiritual and material potential of child without alienating or changing their environment. It also realizes the early childhood care and education as an improvement component and phase of child's development and supports the efforts of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). |
