| Shiv Sena takes out procession against power curtailment | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 13: Angered over prolonged power curtailment, the workers of the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena took out a procession from Rani Park to City Chowk, carrying electric heaters and electric equipments in their hands. According to press release, protesters stated that PDD which was headed by Omar Abdullah has always been claiming of deficit in the revenue collection of electricity but on the contrary NC office in Srinagar ows Rs. 11.49 lakhs to the state PDD. They further questioned that enhancement of Rs. 32 Lakh units electricity announced by the government and even purchase of additional units of electricity for 200 Crores for state, then still why there were continuous cuts in Jammu city and in rural areas? They demanded that when the people of Jammu have been paying tariff according to the meters then why same have been deprived of power. "Few months back cabinet took a decision of waving of the interest on electricity bills so that people should pay their bills so that they can get uninterrupted power supply", they said. |
