| Council builds-up pressure on coaches | | Members to conduct surprise checks | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 13: Failing to get things done through existing administrative system, the autonomous sports body of State Sports Council, in a move to build-up pressure on the coaches serving at different established coaching centers in the state, has constituted Monitoring Committees at the Provincial level. Four members each from Jammu and Kashmir Provinces have been assigned with the task to conduct surprise checks of coaching centres and stadiums by the Secretary, State Sports Council through an order dated December four. As per the order No. 639, the Monitoring Committees, besides surprise checks, shall also monitor the performance of the coaches, instructors and trainers at all level. The Committees have also been empowered with inspection of records maintained at the stadium level and may ask for any other information from the incharge of the district units as and when required. In addition to interaction with the trainees with regard to their coaching sessions, the Monitoring Committee shall also make surprise checks of the activities of the affiliated sports associations, coaching camps and screening process. The Jammu Province Committee included Ram Khajuria, Dushyant Sharma, Kuldeep Handoo and Ranjit Kalra. Similarly, members nominated to the Provincial committee for Kashmir are former Secretary, State Sports Council, NA Khan, BA Shah, Zameer Thakur and Rifat Abdullah. Meanwhile, it has been reliably learnt that these Monitoring Committees are expected to meet for the first time on December 17 at the Winter Capital. |
