| Azad, Soz arriving in winter capital today | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 20: As the political scenario in the Congress is stagnant for some time in Jammu, the organizational activities and public functions are expected to get some boost with two stalwarts Ghulam Nabi Azad and Prof Saif-u-Din Soz arriving here tomorrow. Though the leaders are arriving tomorrow, both have different schedule of activities to attend. However, both the leaders are expected to meet the functionaries and loyalists of their respective factions to discuss political matters pertaining to state and the party in general. Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is arriving in the winter capital tomorrow to attend an apolitical function concerned with his ministry at the Centre. Azad will inaugurate a week long ISM camp being organised on a large scale with focus on centrally sponsored 'Arogya' scheme of Health ministry which is offering benefits to people across the state. PCC Chief Prof Soz is arriving in Jammu after quite a gap. Though as on date no scheduled business is on agenda of PCC chief, the functionaries and senior leaders of the region are hopeful both Azad and Soz would give time to have an assessment of the functioning of the state unit as also the working of the party at the district and block levels where reorganization task is pending for long time now. Sources said the district and blcok level commitees are waiting to get a nod for reorganization of entire hierrachies, a step which is required to gear up activities in a vigorous manner ahead of polls next year. Sources said though loyalists from both the factions are waiting eagerly for both the stalwarts to come and meet, no formal programmes have been kept on agenda of the 'visiting' dignitaries as yet. While it is requirement for Azad to stay in Union capital, Soz has also been camping there most of the time. As a result of continuous absence from the state scene for longer periods, the state level matters have not been pushed into active mode. |
