| Environment Awareness Campaign organized in schools of Majalta | | | Early TImes Report
Jammu, Dec 20: Series of environment awareness campaigns were organized in Majalta Education Zone, district Udhampur on the theme, "Biodiversity Conservation and Food Security" at High School Thaloora and Middle School Baryalta which were organized under the National Environment Awareness Campaign to aware people about ecology and environment. The events were organized under the direct supervision of Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Majalta Ved Parkash in which over 25 schools from different areas of Majalta zone participated.
Tehsildar Majalta Aamir Choudhary and Sandeep Sanotra BDO Majalta inaugurated the function while other proment present on the occasion were Nizam-ud-Din ZEPO Majalta, Sarpanch Thaloora Balwant Raj Sharma, Chairman WWF-India and Coordinator finance CEET.
Various competitions organized during the campaign were painting, poster making, symposium and Rally.
Winning students included Arun Sharma, Robina Banu, Ashiq Hussain and Prabhjot Devi (Middle Classes category), Shabir Sharma, Laxmi Devi, Poonam Sharma, Meenakshi Sharma and Vishal Singh (Hr Sec Level) in painting whereas Amrita Sharma, Arun Thakur, Sunil Kumar and Shalshi Sharma were the winners of Poster making contest and Meer Verma, Amit Singh, Vaneet Singh, Gurdeep Sharma and Amrita Devi toped in Symposium.
Resource material on Education for Sustainable Development and EE Teachers Manual was distributed to about 50 teachers who attended the campaign. Bodh Raj and Romesh Singh (Teachers) comprered the programme and Govind Ram HeadMaster High School Thalora presented vote of thanks. |
