| Corruption charges framed against Municipal Veterinary Officer, other in trap case | | | Et Report Jammu, Dec20 : Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Puneet Gupta today framed corruption charges against Manohar Lal then veterinary Officer Dogra Hall Jammu and his driver Jaswant Lal who was caught red-handed by VOJ on September 3, 2009 while accepting Rs 2000/- as bribe. After hearing CPO Harminder Singh for the VOJ, special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Puneet Gupta framed charges u/s 5(2)J&K PC Act 2006 BK. According to the VOJ case, on September 3, 2011 one Riyaz Ahmed Bhat s/o Gh. Mohd Bhat r/o Christan Colony Jammu lodged a verbal report at P/S VOJ alleging therein that he is running a meat shop for last 4-5 years at Rail Head Complex Jammu. On September 3, 2011 ML Gupta Veterinary Health Officer JMC came to his shop and lifted the meat from his shop, the said officer said that he (complainant) is not paying Rs 2000/- per month as bribe to him. The complainant requested the accused to return him the lifted meat upon which accused asked complainant to come to his office at Dogra Hall Jammu along with an amount of Rs 2000/- as bribe. Upon this VOJ registered a case and trap team constituted and laid trap & caught red-handed accused persons while accepting bribe amount. |
