| Newly wedded constable commits suicide | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 20 : A constable of 19th battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon at gate of state Guest House.
Sources said that the deceased was married just 28 days ago.
The deceased has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed (23) son of Sannaullah of Tangmarg.
Police said that this afternoon, Mushtaq who was posted on main gate of the state guest house allegedly shoot him from his Self Loading Riffle (SLR) resulting his on the spot death.
After hearing the gun shot immediately reached the spot and informed their seniors.
"The body was immediately shifted to the mortuary of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) for legal formalities", said a police official.
Police further said that weapon was seized from the spot for further investigation.
Police said that preliminary exact reasons behind such an extreme step could not be ascertained and a case in this connection has been registered. Further investigation is in progress.
Commandant 19th Battalion, SP Rajesh Sharma said that Mushatq joined hi duties 20 days ago as he went for leave due to his marriage. |
