| PDP Youth labour cell attacks on Punjab Police, Govt | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, January 5 : Launching a scathing attack on the Punjab police and Punjab government for keeping a Dalit woman nude in Police station, the district president, PDP Youth Labour Cell, Jammu district, Salman Bhatti said that such inhuman cruelty on the part of police would not be tolerated any more. In a press statement, he said that police of Kot Fata Police Station had kept a Dalit and poor woman in the police station against a false theft case but they (police) had behaved improper and inhuman and kept the woman nude and illegal confinement. Bhatti asked the Punjab government to nail-in such police who are teasing the Dalits in the Punjab and demanded immediate termination of erring SHO Kabool Singh and his ASI Darshan Singh and file a case against both of them for violating the human rights and misusing their official position. He further said that such act had defamed the India at International level and such bad incidents should be curbed. He also said that soma days earlier the Punjab Police had inserted a stick in the secret part of a Dalit man, which is unnatural and immoral act. He said, "I belong to a Dalit family and I will fight till my last breath against the cruelty to the Dalits and it is matter of shame for the India that such things are happenings till now after 67 years of Independence." Appreciating the efforts of Dr Raj Kumar Verka, vice chairman, NCSO, he suggested him (Dr Verka) to take the matter to a logical end and ensure strict punishment to the culprits, who are in police uniform but performing anti-social, anti-constitution and anti-India activities. He asked the government to strengthen all those commissions who are taking care of Dalits. |
