NC's propaganda of PDP- BJP alliance smashed
1/5/2014 11:38:33 PM
early times report
Jammu, Dec 5: PDP has ruled out any alliance with the BJP. It had said both parties have divergent views on Art 370 and there can't be any meeting point between them.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti had said while her party stands for self-rule, resolution of Kashmir problem, BJP has an aversion to Art 370 and thus there can't be any meeting point between two parties.
Mehbooba Mufti's statement has scotched rumors that PDP was getting close to BJP. The propaganda of PDP coming close to BJP has been started by National Conference and is consistently propagating it especially in Valley, where it (NC) believes that BJP is most hated party.
The categorical statement on this account by PDP president would most likely take out the sheen from this propaganda of the NC.
NC has been consistently aligning PDP with BJP to prove the point that a party which claim to stand for the empowerment of Kashmir (PDP) is teaming with a party that wants complete abrogation of Art 370.
NC leadership has of late been raking up the debate on Art 370 after BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narinder Modi had in a rally in Jammu only stated about having a debate on Art 370.
NC has been consistently trying to push PDP with the BJP after chief minister Omar Abdullah had said that his future rests with the Congress led UPA. The party game plan is to build a perception that PDP is close to BJP so the Congress has no other alternative but to align with NC to come to power in the State.
It's doing so because the NC has realized that there is no political possibility of it emerging as the single largest party, like in 2008, so to retain the power it needs Congress. PDP as of now is likely to gain some more seats than the last elections. Even then it would require the support of the Congress.
PDP by categorically stating that it would have no alliance with the BJP, has not only cornered NC but has also made itself available to the Congress a checkmate move by the party for the NC.
