| NC leader, Govt teacher among 4 held with huge haul of intoxicants | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 15: NC leader among four persons have been arrested by police besides recovering a haul of intoxicant and illicit liquor here in Doda District. Cases in this regards stand registered at concerned police stations. As per reports, a police party of Police station Doda lead by I/c PP Pul Doda was on routine patrol on Paryote road and they intercepted a bus 4543/JK02AG from where some persons were shifting some articles to Alto car No 6668/JK02R. During search gunny bag the police team recovered 130 bottles of Rexcof syrups (100 ml each), a psychotropic drug and allegedly being used by drug addicts.
"The four Alto car bound persons have been identified namely as Fayaz Ahmed Pampori s/o Ghulam Rasool Pampori,Zia-ul-Haq(government teacher) s/o Mohd Khalil Batt, Sohail Ahmed Tak (NC leader) s/o Ghulam Hassan Tak and Ab Hakim alias Raju Banday s/o Ab Latief Banday R/o Doda, reports said, further adding, "however two of the suspects namely Raju Banday and Sohail Tak managed to flee from the spot whereas Fayaz Ahmed Pampori and Zia-ul-Haq were arrested on spot besides seizure of car.
A case against FIR No. 12/2014 U/S 08/21/ 22/25/29 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Doda. Meantime another accused Sohail Ahmed Tak was also arrested in the same case today.
Meanwhile in a similar incident Police Party of Police Station Thathri arrested one Raj Kumar s/O Gandharm Singh of Koti Doda with 36 pouches of illicit liquor. A case against FIR No 05/2014 U/S 48-A Excise Act stands registered at P/S Thathri. The drive is being carried-out consistently under the close supervision of SP Doda Mohd Sharief Chouhan and it is pertinent to mention that eight cases have been registered in a row within a period of one week under NDPS Act and Excise Act. |
