Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 19: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) President Anil Gupta today reiterated that party is determined to work for the welfare and resettlement of Ex-servicemen and their families.
Participating as Chief Guest in the 3rd Raising Day of All J&K Paramilitary forces Ex-servicemen Welfare Association at Shining Star Academy, Muthi, Anil Gupta Said, " JKDF Shall raise the issue of granting of dual pension to personnel of Paramilitary forces in case a retired person from these forces is reemployed in any Civil department of Central or State Government." The Government decision to grant dual pension in this regard is currently applicable to only retired defence forces personnel.
"Keeping the Paramilitary forces out of these recommendations shall be unfair as well injustice to the thousands of retired personnel and their families of this country,"
He pointed out that these disparities have arisen due to lackadaisical approach of Government to recognize the services of Ex- Paramilitary forces personnel at par with the Defence forces. He said, "The Ex-servicemen of Paramilitary forces are not granted the facilities and other benefits by the concerned State and Central Government as applicable to the country's Ex-defense forces personnel, although, the working conditions are almost similar in both."
Despite many representations in this regard, the State and Central Government failed to consider the demands of Ex-servicemen of Paramilitary forces he added.
Anil Gupta appealed to Central as well as State Government to expand the purview of these recommendations to the personnel of Paramilitary forces, so that they cannot be deprived of getting the dual pensions from their services in forces and current employment of Civil establishment of Central and State Government wherever it is applicable.
