Mongri people celebrate tehsil status, hail MLC Jugal's efforts

UDHAMPUR, Feb 6 : Locals of Mongri today welcomed Member Legislative Council (MLC) and former Minister Jugal Kishore Sharma for his strenuous efforts to ensure tehsil status to far flung area like Mongri in Udhampur district. In an impressive function joined by hundreds of local people, MLC Jugal Kishore was accorded a rousing reception at Mongri who was visiting the area for the first time after the Cabinet Sub Committee recommended Tehsil status for it. People celebrated the occasion amid beating of drums.
Addressing the gathering, MLC Jugal Kishore said that after getting the status of Tehsil, the development activities will automatically get a new fillip and public will get better facilities at their door steps. "The creation of new administrative units in the state is due to the tireless efforts of Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad who is committed to improve the socio -economic status of the general public of the state particularly in rural areas… It was Mr Azad who accorded sanction to new districts in 2007 which paved the way for setting up new administrative units," he said. Appreciating the decision of ruling alliance, he added that this decision of the Government indicates how much present Government is concerned for the betterment of the masses. Senior Congress leader Shakeel Shah, President District Congress Seva Dal Yashpal and Ashok Padha appreciated the cabinet decision and said it is the fruit of constant effort of MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma, who convinced the cabinet Sub Committee headed by Dy Chief Minister Tara Chand in this regard.
Prominent present among this meeting included Sarpanch Mongri Kailash Devi Sarpanch Lalli, Sarpanch Yashpal, Sarpanch Bansi Lal, Sarpanch Hoshiar Singh, Sarpanch Ramesh Singh , Sarpanch Dhani Ram, Hansraj Bhamagia, Chanchal Singh, Ramesh Singh, Munshi Ram besides large number of Naib Sarpanchs and Panchs.
