| Police certain of Abdullah's involvement in swindling crores | | Noose tightens around Farooq in JKCA scam | | Javaid Naikoo SRINAGAR, Feb 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have reportedly completed its investigation in to the much talked multi crore Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) scam and have indicted the involvement of national conference president and Union Minister for solar gas and renewable energy Farooq Abdullah for swindling money by way of bogus accounts and fraud checks. According to the national media reports Jammu and Kashmir police have already completed investigation and have submitted the findings for legal action. Though no charge sheet has been filed but the police, reports said, have indicted Dr Farooq. Leading national paper, Hindustan times today reported that during the investigation police have also succeeded in verifying exchange of the all important letters between then members of JKCA. Besides the police have verified how checks of Jammu and Kashmir bank were withdrawn and then scanned the accounts of JKCA association. Media reports also revealed that Jammu and Kashmir Police after going through the case have indicated that bogus accounts have been created and everything ranging from fraud checks to creating bogus every illegal activity carried during the swindling of crores was in the knowledge of concerned members which includes president, Farooq Abdullah. Police sources have revealed that on the basis of evidence collected so far from different circles associated with swindling of money, Dr Farooq's involvement has become certain. Besides Jammu and Kashmir bank in their report have also mentioned that money from the account was released after they received one required authority letter of JKCA president Farooq Abdullah which as per media reports was duly signed by Union Minister Farooq Abdullah on June 27 in 2008. JKCA has replied that the amount was sanctioned by all members of the board associated with JKCA then, however it has surfaced last year already that members of JKCA mutually used association's bank account at Srinagar's Khanyar branch of the J&K Bank which Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sanctioned in the name of JKCA for overall upliftement of sports structure of the state. Farooq Abdullah was also in news headlines recently after Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal besides some other noted politicians of the country listed him among the most corrupt politicians of India enjoying Union Ministry portfolio. |
