Sham visits Jammu University, inspects stalls

JAMMU, Feb 6: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma, today, visited Jammu University, and inspected the stalls installed by various departments in connection with on-going 101st Indian Science Congress.
The Minister went round the stalls installed by PHE department and interacted with the officers present there. He inquired about the success of the stalls and the number of people visited the stalls. The Minister also took stock of the stalls installed by Agriculture, Horticulture and Floriculture departments.
Talking to media persons, the Minister said that time has come when people should think seriously about the usage of water as the rapid melting of snow deposits and glaciers has posed a major threat globally including to our country.
"Water is precious" said the Minister, adding that people have to play their role in sensitizing about the judicious utilization and saving of water for our posterity in the State.
The Minister said that holding of Indian Science Congress in Jammu was a good decision and will give exposure to people associated with the event.
