According to reports, while terming the creation of 659 new administrative units as the second biggest decision after Land to Tiller Act, Shaheen said that the people of the state are testimony to the fact that Congress tried to create hurdles in Chief Minister's initiative of creation of new administrative units in the state and Chief Minister had even threatened to resign due to their unwarranted objections and hurdles and now Congress is trying to take undue credit for something done by the Chief Minister through his upright stand and resistance to serious objections raised by his ally, Shaheen said. "Complimenting Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for taking people-friendly decision which is historic and a new millstone towards fulfilment of public demands," Shaheen said that the young Chief Minister is pursuing the mission of making Jammu and Kashmir a progressive, developed and peaceful State where all segments of the people, especially living in remote and far flung areas could live with peace, honour and dignity. Shaheen also hailed the various other steps taken by the government during the past five years, saying these have left indelible mark on governance. While exhorting the people in general and party workers in particular to strengthen party and the hands of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah andalso take the programme of the party to every house hold and work tirelessly to strengthen the party at the grass roots level so as the party is steered to massive victory in 2014 elections under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. |
