| Two activists shifted to DH after condition deteriorates | | Budhal residents strike enters 5th day | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Feb 6 : The Indefinite protest dharna and hunger strike by the people of Budhal and its 27 adjoining villages entered 5th consecutive day today. Meanwhile two activists whose condition deteriorated were shifted to the district hospital for further medical aid. The habitats of Budhal and adjoining areas have alleged that the successive governments have deceived them and by not granting Tehsil status to Budhal. "The recent announcement by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullha about the creation of new administrative units in the state don't carry the name of Budhal as Tehsil and now the people of the area have decided to fight for their rights" said Naib Sarpanch Jala Din who was on hunger strike and was shifted to District Hospital. All the business establishments in Budhal and adjoining areas were closed and people were sitting on indefinite Dharna and hunger strike in the office of Naib Tehsildar. Ten people including panchyat members, social and political activists irrespective to their party affiliations were sitting on hunger strike and indefinite Dharna. |
