Doda, Feb 6: Security forces in joint search operation launched in Gandoh busted a hideout at Suranga Kunthal Drabdi area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandoh and effected recovery of arms and ammunition including UBGL launcher and grenades besides a LMG stolen from police contingent during an encounter on 2001."On specific information, the Police party from Gandoh and troops of 26 RR launched a joint search operation and busted a hideout at Suranga Kunthal Drabdi area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandoh, police sources said. They said the recovery effected from the hide out included one LMG 7.62 mm, one Magazine of LMG, two Chinese Pistols, two Pistol Magazines, five UBGL Shells and one UBGL launcher. Police sources said that the recovered LMG was looted by the militants from Police Party of Ops Group Gandoh from the site of encounter at Trunkhal Gandoh in the year 2001 in which one SPO had also lost his life and injury to two other police personnel and case against FIR No.106/2001 u/s 302, 307, 120-B, 396 RPC, 3/4 POTA, 7/27 AA stands registered at Police Station Gandoh. |
