Jammu, Feb 6: Vice-President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari is expected to arrive at Jammu here on Friday afternoon. Vice President is on two day visit in Jammu on February 7- 8. As per sources, after his landing at Technical Airport, Jammu the vice president would be accorded warm reception. He is going to deliver valedictory address of the Indian Science Congress at Jammu University in the afternoon of February 7 which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Feb 3. "He is also expected to attend the convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra on February 8, sources said. Meanwhile keeping in view of vice president's arrival, the security grid has been tightened in and around the Jammu city. DIG Jammu Kathua range Shakeel Beigh when contacted said that fool proof security arrangements have been made ahead of his visit. He further said that as already additional force has been deployed around the Jammu University, adding, all nakas have been alert. SP Traffic Jammu Pawan Parihar meanwhile said that there would be no traffic restrictions on traffic in Jammu, however the plying of the vehicles would be stopped for brief time during the VIP movement and once it was over the traffic would be resumed as usual. |
