| Young Meenal leads in State Chess | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 7: Young Meenal Gupta was leading with absolute four points in her account after the round four that completed today in the ongoing Senior State Championship, organised by All J&K Chess Association at Hotel Nek, here.
Title contender and reigning state champion, Sumit Grover and Rohit Bhardwaj were trailing behind with 3.5 points each at the end of round four of the 13-roung game. Among others who won in the fourth round were Mohd Sharief, Shahid Mushtaq, Pranav Sharma and Maxim Singh.
The Results: Fourth Round: Mohd.sharief beat Sheikh Najmus Sakib; Shahid Mushtaq beat Amir Yousuf Bhat; Meenal Gupta beat Javed Ahmed Bhat; Pranav Sharma drew with Soham Kamotra; Rohit Bhardwaj beat Mohd Rafiq; Sumit Grover beat Faisal Farooq; Maxim Singh beat Arvindu.
Third Round: Arvindu bt Najmus Saqib; Sumit bt Maxim Singh; Faizal bt Mohd Rafiq; Rohit Bhardwaj drew with Soham Kamotra; Javed Ahmed Bhat bt Pranab Sharma; Meenal Gupta bt Shahid Mushtaq; Mohd Sharif bt Amir Yusuf Bhat. |
