| Employee brings shame to JU for saving mattresses | | Denies food inside Zorawar Singh auditorium | | Bivek Mathur JAMMU, Feb 7: The denial of permission to carry eatables inside the Zorawar Singh Auditorium by an employee of the Jammu University during the prestigious Science Congress has brought shame to the institution. The employee objected to carrying of eatables by the guests for fear of getting the mattresses soiled. However, he ignored the possibility of having some diabetics, heart and other patients for whom both eatables and water are indispensable. Appointed Administrator for the Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Dr D L Choudhary, according to sources had asked his subordinates to paste in written on the door of the hall-"Eatables are not allowed inside the hall". However, Choudhary has not signed on the warning pasted on the wall of the hall. If sources are to be believed, the same has been done by this employee who is on extension in the varsity and is left with one or two months job in the varsity to avoid loss to the mattresses in the hall. The administrator Dr D L Choudhary issued the warning despite knowing the fact that diabetics experiences frequent thirst and their body needs to be hydrated time to time with some healthy fluids especially water. With this, the diabetics also needs some eatables especially fruits having rich water content like lemon, oranges, grapes and other citrus fruits including some fibrous food materials rich in carbohydrates and legumes but this administrator showing dictatorship over the venue stopped the entry of all the stuffs as he was more concerned for the mattresses than the esteemed guests who have come to attend the function from all across the country. Pertinent to mention that heart patients also needs plenty of fibrous foods and fruits for a healthy life style. |
