Kishtwar, Feb 7 : Seeking absorption of local youth in power projects, the chain hunger strike of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) Kishtwar today entered 2nd day at Drabshalla Kishtwar. According to press release, chairman of the Union Joginder Bhandari along with hundreds of workers of district Kishtwar were observing strike in front of office of GVK Energy Limited and M/s L&T Companies. Bhandari urged upon the management of GVK and L&T Co. that one member of each affected family whose land has been acquired for project purpose, be recruited in GVK Energy Ltd, as a principal employer for the period the company has been entrusted to run the project and has further demanded that their salaries be fixed at par with the NHPC. |
