| PDP leader criticizes govt over meager compensation to farmer | | |

Jammu, Feb 7: Prominent Leader of PDP Sudarshan Choudhary criticized the government for nominal compensation to the farmers whose crops were damaged due to heavy rains during 2013.
As per press release, Sudarshan Choudhary said farmers had to incur Rs 2500 for cultivation per kanal while government Rs. 300 per Kanal which is injustice to the farmer.
He said Revenue authorities were approached and loss of property and crops was brought to their notice. After a gap of almost more than a year crops compensation was few assessed Rs. 300 per kanal by the DC Samba along with his revenue staff went to distribute the cheques to the concerned parties after having around the loss. Keeping in view the gravity of their problem Ch. Sudarshan warned the J&K Govt. to compensate the loss Rs 2000 per kanal at the earliest failing which agitated farmers under the banners of PDP shell come on the road to high light their genuine demands. Prominent among those who were present are Swarn Singh, Brita Ram, Jagdish Singh, Kheru Ram and Rajinder Singh. |
