The bench also directed completion of Master Plan for Gulmarg within four weeks. The court was hearing a Public Interest Litigation, seeking directions to protect Gulmarg ski-resort from pollution and illegal constructions. While hearing the case, a Division Bench comprising Justice Hasnain Massodi and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey directed that the status report furnished shall also indicate whether STPs have been installed on proprietary land or public land/common land has been encroached for constructing STPs. The bench also directed completion of Master Plan for Gulmarg within four weeks. The direction by the court followed perusal of report submitted by Chief Town Planner, Kashmir, indicating that significant steps have been taken towards preparation of Master Plan for the area. "The only hiccup in taking exercise to its logical end is delay on part of Chief Conservator of Forests in conveying Confirmation of geo-referenced Forest boundaries to the Chief Town Planner," the CTP had said in the status report filed last month.Advocate General M I Qadri stated that Chief Conservator of Forests has taken required steps and has submitted a copy to Chief Town Planner on February 3. "This clears decks for preparation of Master Plan for Gulmarg and other areas. The exercise be completed and Master Plan submitted before competent authority within four weeks so that we have a Master Plan for Gulmarg," the court said. |
