Bijay Charak Jammu, Feb 7: The execution of road projects under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) is going on at snail's pace in district Doda, as even after lapse of eight years, out of 34 road projects only five have been completed while rest are still lingering on. Sources informed Early Times that a total of 139 road projects under PMGSY scheme were sanctioned across the state spread over length of 1138.640 kilometers at a cost of Rs. 51, 232.54 lakhs. "The schemes were sanctioned in the year 2005-2006 and out of all projects 4 were dropped", sources said, adding that out of these, 72 roads projects were completed and 54 road projects across the state are still incomplete. They further informed that in the list of 54 incomplete road projects across state, 29 incomplete road projects fell in district Doda. "In district Doda, 34 roads projects were sanctioned out of which 5 road projects have been completed so far, while 29 road projects are still incomplete after lapse of 8 years", sources said. The total cost of 34 road projects in district Doda cost Rs. 18507.40 Lakhs and are spread over length of 426 kilometers, but till date only 43.68 kilometers of road have been completed with expenditure of Rs.1712.28 lakhs. Sources further said that most of the road projects were sanctioned in year 2005-06, but were awarded one or two years later. The incomplete road projects include road from Saras to Kastigarh involving cost of Rs. 681.92 Lakhs with length of 16.32 kilometers. Jodhpur Mohalla to Parshoola road with cost of Rs.765.75 Lakhs involving length of 20 kilometers, Karole to Kamet road project, with estimated cost of Rs.1311.88 lakhs and spread over length of 29 kilometers, Bhargran to Bayota (Part A) with cost Rs.739.05 lakhs and length of 15 kilometers, Block boundary Ramban to Shamti road project are some among incomplete road projects. The other road projects namely, Beoli to Goddi Part B (9.65 Km), Doda to Malwana Jagir (13 km), Tipri to Patnazi (6.5 km), Hewagan to Bohardhar (6km), Mehar Nera to Ganote (15 km), Marog Balihote to Ahdwa road project( 24.32 km), Bhagwa to Desa (10.2 km), Chilli to Dhandal (20 km), Mulwarwan to Nopachi (31.27 km), Hewagan to Dhanmasta (9.2 km), Lower Palmar to Upper Palmar (6.4 km) Hunga Alanbas to Hoochak (3 km), Beeru Bhasti to Dugli (11 km), Block boundary Banihal to Parhinder Neel (4km) beside others.When contacted Superintendent Engineer PMGSY circle office Boatate, Raman Puri said that the delay was only due to delay in getting forest clearance and land acquisition. |
