| 10026 works done in 2012-13 under MGNREGA in Poonch: Sagar | | | early times report
JAMMU, Feb 13: As many as 10026 works have been completed under MGNREGA in district Poonch during 2012-13, generating 21.26 lakh mandays.
The information was given by the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar while replying to a question by Jahangir Hussain Mir in the Legislative Council.
Sagar further informed the House that 3235 candidates have been engaged as support staff under MGNREGA in the department. He further said that total number of daily wagers working in the department are 912, out of which, 366 have been cleared by the Committee constituted by the government, while 546 are under scrutiny.
Replying to the supplementaries raised by Dr. Shehnaz Ganai, the Minister informed the House that government will speed up regularization of daily wagers and also explore the possibility of issuing separate orders for regularization of those belonging to Jammu division whose cases have been cleared by the Committee.
