| MVD, DIC organize Road Safety Awareness programme | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, Feb 13: With a view to create awareness about the road safety among student community, the Motor Vehicles Department in collaboration with District Information Center (DIC) Reasi today organized a Road Safety Awareness Programme in the Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Reasi. Hundreds of children participated in the programme.
Emphasis was laid on the process of boarding and de-boarding from school buses. They were also made aware about several rules and precautions that are required to be followed while using the roads. Booklets on road safety and learner's licence forms for children over 16 years of age and pamphlets and handbills carrying road safety messages were also distributed among students. Those present on the occasion were ARTO Reasi, Rajesh Gupta, officials from Information Department, the Principal Madan Mohan Khajuria, the teachers and staff. ARTO Reasi advised the students to strictly follow the road safety norms as the road safety applies to all the people including pedestrians and cyclists.
A debate competition was also held on this occasion, Trilochan Singh was adjudged as first, Mohan Singh and Rohit Sharma were adjudged as second and third respectively. Sunil Kumar and Ajay Singh got consolation prizes. |
