Jammu, Feb 15: PHE Workers Welfare Association (WWA) chain hunger strike today enters day 5 here at in premises of Chief Engineer office Jammu. According to press release, provincial President Ram Parkash said that the long pending demands of employees include regularization of all sorts of PHE workers after 5 years clearance of 22 months backlog wages of workers, disbursement of wages of workers before 5th of every month regularly, holding of DPC meeting against vacant posts, framing of concrete recruitment policy for PHE department and creation of higher scale posts and to create the promotion avenues for all stagnated employees. He further said that seven employees belonging to PHE division Doda, Krishan Singh, Bashir Ahmed, Gul Mohd, Javed Iqbal, Gulam Mohi-u-Din, Naseem Khan and Atta Mohd today sit on hunger strike. Meanwhile Subash Verma provincial General Secretary Subash Verma said that the employees had forced towards the unwanted agitation because of callous attitude of concerned authority. He further said that ongoing agitation would remain continue on democratic and non- violence principles to achieve the goal. |
