| Principal GDC Srinagar issues threats to doctors, not able to digest suggestions of others | | Says he would spoil career of doctors who don't fall in line | | Jehangir Rashid
SRINAGAR, Feb 16: In the garb of enforcing 'discipline' and 'work culture' Principal Government Dental College (GDC) Srinagar, Dr. Riyaz Farooq has taken law into his own hands by asking the medicos to mend ways or face music.
Inside sources told Early Times that Dr. Riyaz has threatened the doctors especially the junior doctors of dire consequences in case they don't listen to his diktats. The 'above' law Principal GDC, Srinagar has gone to extent of issuing threats that he would spoil the career of doctors in case they don't fall in within his scheme of things.
"There is nothing new as far as issuing of threats by Dr. Riyaz is concerned as this has been going on for long time now. He calls up the doctors every now and then and asks them to follow his line of action. In case some doctor has a valid point to put across he or she is forced to eat humble pie as Dr. Riyaz considers himself to be the ultimate authority," said sources.
Sources said that Dr. Riyaz always mentions the name of Dr. Aijaz Naik in his threatening conversations with the doctors. They said that the Principal GDC, Srinagar while issuing threats to the doctors says that any doctor who confronts him would be punished severely and it would be ensured that his or her career is brought to an end.
It is important to mention here that Dr. Riyaz did not issue the experience certificate in favour of Dr. Aijaz as a result of which he could not complete the registrarship. Following this Dr. Aijaz could not apply for the post of lecturer at GDC, Srinagar despite being competent enough to be appointed as lecturer.
"In the past many complaints have been lodged with respect to the conduct and behaviour of Dr. Riyaz but still then no action whatsoever has been taken against him. His conduct and behavior has always been rude towards his staff and he has no ethics as well as morality how to talk especially with female staff members. He is psychopath and needs to be given treatment by a concerned doctor," said the sources.
Sources said that Principal GDC, Srinagar behaves like an arrogant boss who thinks he is always right with the other person being always wrong. They said despite being indicted in various cases of corruption Dr. Riyaz continues to head Government Dental College, Srinagar. This they say gives an impression that dishonest call the shots always with the honest forced to face music. |
