Jammu, Feb 19: The Jammu Municipal Corporation has realized the requisite licence fee to the tune of Rs. 255.02 crore via advertising through hoarding in various parts of Jammu city. The Municipal Corporation Jammu has given sole advertisement to M/s Selvel Media services Pvt Limited for advertising within municipal limits after charging the requisite licence fee as per the terms of contract executed with the aforementioned agency. This was stated by Minister for Housing and Urban Development Nuwang Rigzin Jora in response to the question raised by Yashpal Kundal, MLA Samba. In Srinagar, only Rs. 4.43 crores have been realized through hoarding from 2006 when it has privatized the hoardings in Srinagar apart from this, Municipal Corporation has given any permission for change of residential into commercial uses. However, permissions are being granted for residential, commercial and mixed uses as per permissible in master plan 2000-21 and as per Municipal Corporation building By Laws 2011. Besides, 209 illegal construction raised within area of SMC and many of them have been demolished by the corporation. 166 cases have been registered as illegal construction for year 2013-14 in JMC, where 9 buildings were demolished, 87 cases are subjudice in court of law, 03 number of buildings have been sealed. |
