Blind murder case worked out, illicit relations behind killing

Udhampur, Feb 19: Police today claimed to have worked out a mysterious blind murder case of Mantalai, Chenani of Udhampur in record week’s time. Illicit relations have been reasoned as the cause of murder.
Police spokesman from Udhampur said that on February 13, telephonic information was received in Police Station Chenani regarding the mysterious killing of one Mushtaq Ahmed s/o Ismail of Chatrari by some wild animals and his body was found in the bushes near Mantalai under mysterious circumstances. Spokesman further said that based on the information, Inquest proceedings under Section 174/Cr.PC initiated in Police station Chenani and investigations started.
During the investigations, SSP Udhampur, Suleman Choudhary himself visited the spot and ordered constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Prem Raj Shan, SDPO Chenani and Inspector Ajeet Singh, SHO Chenani.
"The team during the course of investigation rounded up few suspects including one Noor Mohd.son of Altaf Din who was put on sustained interrogation, SSP Udhampur said and added, "during interrogation the suspect broke down and confessed commission of crime."
SSP Udhampur disclosed that the deceased had developed illicit relations with the wives of two of his brothers and even one of his brothers had divorced his wife due to her illicit relations with the deceased. Moreover, the deceased was also trying to develop illicit relations with his (Noor Mohd) wife also, due to which he planned to kill the deceased. He further disclosed that he attempted many a times to kill the deceased but could not succeed. On that very day, when the deceased namely Mushtaq Ahmed was coming from the house of his brother during late night hours, accused hit him hard on his head with a boulder and fled away taking advantage of darkness. Before fleeing from the spot, the accused scratched the neck and some other parts of deceased body deeply to mislead the Police as killing by some wild animal's attack. Meanwhile the injured died on the spot due to profuse bleeding. After accused's confession the above mentioned inquest was converted into case FIR No. 15/2014 murder under section 302 of RPC and with the arrest of above named accused, the case has been worked out and is being produced in the court of law shortly.
