| Passenger beaten, Rs 2 lakh snatched by police | | | JAMMU, Feb 20: A passenger was beaten mercilessly and Rs 2 lakh were snatched from him allegedly by Raj Bagh police here on National Highway today. These allegations were levelled by the aggrieved namely Mohd Sadiq (Mobile no. 9797350849) son of Abdul Rafiq, who is admitted in the GMC hospital for treatment. Levelling allegations against the police, he said that his vehicle was stopped by a police team of Raj Bagh led by a DySP Probationer, who took him to the police station and beat him to the pulp. Later, Rs 2 lakh, which he was carrying along for repairing of the vehicle was looted from him without any cause. However, doctors treating him said that he had received grave injuries. Meanwhile, SP Kathua Mohan Lal when contacted said that he had no knowledge of the incident,adding,matter to be verified.
