| Police party ambushed in Kathua, ASI injured | | | ET Report Jammu, Feb 20: family members and relatives of one alleged thief ambushed the police party of Police Station Kathua when the team went to village Sadka Chak near Ghati Industrial area to arrest the accused on Wednesday night, resulting into an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) injured. Police sources said that following a reliable input about a thief hiding in the village Sadka Chak near Ghati Industrial area a police team conducted a raid in the village to arrest the alleged thief on Wednesday night. "Some unidentified attacked the police team in which one Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) got injured, sources said and added that the injured ASI was referred to GMC & Hospital Jammu for advance treatment while some other police men got minor injuries. According to sources, a police party was dispatched to arrest the thief namely Mian son of Makhan at his residence at Sadka Chak and when police team reached at the possible hideout of the thief, the family members and relatives of the accused pelted stone on the police party. In the incident one ASI namely Ashiq Ali son of Mohd Yousuf received injuries. Later, police lodge FIR against the assailant.SP Kathua Mohan Lal when contacted, confirming the reports said that a case u/s 307,332,147 and 148 RPC stands registered against the accused persons and hunt on to arrest them. |
