PDP holds protest against Dr Farooq Abdullah for anti-Kashmiri remark

Srinagar, Mar 5: Continuing its protest against National Conference patriarch Dr Farooq Abdullah for his recent anti-Kashmir remarks, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today held a protest demonstration at Budgam, under the leadership of Saifu Din Bhat, district president Budgam. Carrying placards the demonstrators raised slogans against the shameful comments made by Dr Farooq in New Delhi and demanded unconditional apology from the NC and its leadership. The demonstrators said that the NC leadership has insulted the people of the state even as they claim to represent them.
Speaking on the occasion Bhat said the NC, from last 60 years, has been exploiting the people, compromising their dignity for its pity political interests. Demanding apology from Dr Farooq's, Bhat said his utterances are insulting which have badly hurt the sentiments of people of the state.
He said, "NC is responsible for all the ills in J&K, as it has betrayed the people at some crucial junctures in the past." Questioning the credibility of NC patron, Bhat said there are very serious corruption charges pending Dr Farooq, as he is himself involved in the high profile JKCA scam. He said NC has suck the blood of Kashmiri's and built their fortunes and wealth by selling out the interests of the state.
In his address the PDP leader, Er Nazir Yatoo said present power crisis in the state is all because of NC, which has sold the most feasible power projects to the NHPC for the sake of chair. He said instead of doing anything good to improve the power situation in the state, the ruling party has reversed the gains made in the sector by the previous PDP -led government. He said it is not the first time NC has defamed the people, but they have been doing it from last six decades to remain in power.
