JAMMU, Mar 5: Reacting to the news item published in "Early Times" with regard to the alleged irregularity and illegal transfer of solar cookers and solar lights to Kishtwar constituency. Minister of State for Industries & Commerce, Home, Tourism, Housing and Urban Development Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo said that both PDP MLA Syed Asgar Ali and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori are going through a frustration phase. He denied any irregularity in distribution of solar cookers and solar lights.
While talking to "Early Times", Kichloo said that MLA Inderwal was asleep when the Ministry of New and Renewable Resource Energy Government of India through the department of Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) sought a detailed project report from elected representatives with regard to sanction of cookers and lights. He said that following the directions of the concern Ministry, he took up the matter with JAKEDA officials and started working on documental formalities with regard to sanction of these Solar Cookers. He said that after deliberate and detail discussion over the issue, Chief Executive Officers JAKEDA took up the matter with Director Incharge National Project Manager, GSWHP in Ministry of New and Renewable Energy wide letter No: ST/EDA/Solar/44/2010-11/376 dated 03-02-2012. He said that as per the said letter copy which is available with "Early Times", these 6000 Solar Cookers costing Rs. 180 lakhs are exclusively for Kishtwar constituency of the District.
As per the sanction accorded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Resource Energy Government of India dated 26-12-2013, among these 6000 Solar Cookers, 2000 were sanctioned for Kishtwar town, 2000 for Mandal Kishtwar and 1000 each for Palmar and Trigham area of the Kishtwar Constituency. "I have paid the state share amount out of my Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and allegation level by Congress MLA has no base and are false" said Kichloo. He said that neither he nor his party made any effort to transfer anything meant for Inderwal Constituency to Kishtwar constituency. He said that Congress MLA and PDP MLC are frustrated and are trying to play cheap politics over the issue. He said that the list of the beneficiaries was prepared by the concern field agencies with the help local officials including Executive of Municipal Committee Kishtwar. He said that the uproar created by the MLA Inderwal inside JK Assembly and PDP MLC inside Legislative Council is unwarranted and has no logic. He said that he is ready to face any inquiry and if proven guilty will resign. He also dared both Saroori and Syed Asgar Ali to prove any wrong doing committed by him and advised them not to befool the people over the issue. He said that instead of pointing out finger towards him, he (Saroori) must approach Ministry of New and Renewable Resource Energy Government of India for sanctioning of the same for his constituency.
It is pertinent to mention here that Congress MLA from Inderwal and former Minister Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, launched a frontal attack on NC leader and Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo alleging that his constituency had been discriminated again in the matter of distribution of solar lights/Solar cookers and sought the resignation of NC leader and Minister of State for Science and Technology Feroz Ahmed over the matter before staging a walkout from the Assembly. He allege that Minister Feroz Khan had diverted the entire allocation of solar lights and solar cookers to one constituency i.e Kishtwar Assembly segment held by Kichloo while denying due share to his Assembly constituency Inderwal. He demanded resignation from the Minister for being discriminatory and distributing solar lights in the constituency represented by NC MLA and staged a walk out. PDP MLA Syed Asgar Ali had also created uproar in Legislative Council on Saturday and also moved a privilege motion.
