KARGIL, Mar 5: Kargil Police rescued a mentally sick woman, while she was trying to make an abortive bid upon her life by jumping into river Suru on Tuesday evening, police said. Superintendent of Police (SP) Kargil, Sujit Kumar said that a mentally disturbed woman was trying to commit suicide in River Suru from Poyen Bridge late evening yesterday. "As the Kargil Police got information in this regard, a team led by DySP (Hqrs), Abdul Khaliq along with SHO Kargil with Jawans reached on spot and rescued the woman and saved her from committing suicide, SP Kargil said.
Later the mentally disturbed woman was handed over to her husband. Local people have appreciated the role of Kargil Police for saving her life. |
