Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 5: A delegation of JKPDP Ex-Servicemen Wing (ESW) held a meeting with the Party Patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed and apprised him about the various problems of the community being faced by them due to the apathy of the successive and present State Govt. Deputation led by State President Capt. Anil Gour and Retd Maj Gen R S Jamwal told Mufti that the imposition of VAT on all CSD sales in the State is hitting the pensioners and war widows the most. Deputation wanted the J and K Govt. to follow its neighbours - Himachal and Rajasthan and totally exempt CSD sales from VAT thus providing a big relief to the ESM and serving soldiers. They also criticised the refusal of J and K Govt to implement the re-employment reservation policy in State Govt. jobs for ex-servicemen and demanded that this policy should be implemented in letter and sprite so that ESM are gainfully employed as they retire at a very early age and have small children to look after. The other demands include recruitment of the wards of Ex servicemen in central and state services, ECHS facility, poly clinics, Army school, establishing of Brig Rajinder Hostel for Veer Naris and wards, land for Sainik Colonies for the soldiers, ex servicemen and war widows, establishment of exclusive department in the state for ex servicemen, settlement of Land revenue cases of ex servicemen and revival of Vansapti iunit of JAK ex servicemen co-operative society. They also demanded land allotment for re establishing J&K Rifle Regimental centre in Jammu so that it can be shifted from Jabalpur to the state. Hav Ramesh Chander, District president Kathua, Dfr Balwan Singh, Vice president Kathua, Sub Vidwan Singh,Hony Capt Balwan Singh, Hav Bodh Raj, Hav Mubarik Ali, Mohd Abdullah were among others who accompanied the deputation.
