| Senior Govt official accused of land grabbing attempt | | Court directs police to investigate; file compliance report | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 5: A senior woman government functionary has been accused of land grabbing attempt and criminal intimidation by misusing her official position in Bhathindi area of Jammu forcing accourt to direct police to probe the matter. In a criminal complaint filed by Dr Nissar Ahmed it has been alleged that the accused Tahseen Jabeen Mufti, who is presently posted as Director Finance in Sheep and Animal Husbandry Department, has made several attempts to encroach upon the piece of land owned by her in Bhathindi area. It was further alleged that the woman official along with some police personnel came on the land few days back in the vehicle, owned by State Motor Garages and ransacked the furniture of the house, constructed on the land. It was further alleged that the caretaker of the house was thrashed and threatened of dire consequences as well. Forest Magistrate Jammu Salah-ud-Din Ahmed after hearing the counsel for the complainant forwarded the complaint in original to the Station House Officer Trikuta Nagar for necessary action under law. The police have also been directed to file compliance report on or before March 15. The directions were issued as the complainant produced copy of the complaint he had filed before police, which was duly marked and forwarded to the concerned police post for taking action. It was alleged that despite the complaint police has not taken action against the alleged land grabber. |
