NABARD organizes 'Financial Inclusion and Literacy Programmes'

Reasi/Kathua, Mar 5: One day Financial Inclusion and Literacy campaign were organised at ITI Reasi and at Kagrore panchayat of Kathua by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development(NABARD) branches.
The programmes were held by NABARD to sensitize villagers, panchayat members on Financial Inclusion, DEDS, KCC and development through banking. A financial literacy camp was organised at ITI Reasi. The resource persons included Aarshi Sharma District Manager NABARD Reasi, Rohit Mehta LDM SBI, Attan Jee Raina RSETI Director, Surjit Kumar Distt employment office Reasi, Irfan JKEDI Reasi, Superintendent ITI and staff and students of institute. On this occasion, Mrs Sharma started with introduction of all banking products like savings accounts, fixed deposits, Recurring Deposits, loans, etc. Later she explained banking system in India. She briefed working of banks and functions of RBI and NABARD to students. She also highlighted benefits of savings account of kids. She also motivated students to join banks after completion of studies. Rohit Mehta LDM SBI, stressed parents should open savings accounts for their children also so that savings for child's education start early. Later a Quiz competition on banking was organised and prizes were distributed among the students. In a similar occasion prominent among those present in this function held at Kathua included Aman Kalsotra, DDM, NABARD, R K Kalsotra, Dr Berjesh Ajrawat SMS KVK, Kathua, Vinod Kumar Baroo, Branch Head, J&K Bank, Kathua, Shiv Des Singh, Branch Manager, Basholi, Desraj Singh, Sarpanch, Khagrore.
Aman Kalsotra, DDM, NABARD asked all the panches and saprances to open account of all the households in their villages and take benefits from banks. He also explained that the objective of KCC scheme, which is to provide flexible and hassle free credit to farmers, which is cost effective for banks as well. Dr Berjesh Ajrawat, SMS( Extension Education) KVK, Kathua, Vinod Kumar Baroo , Branch Head, J&K Bank, Shiv Dev Singh, Branch Manager, SBI, Basohli in their address informed the farmers about the different insurance products, KCC, DIR facilities available with the bank. R K Kalsotra, LBO informed about the training cum hostel facilities available at SBI, R-SETI, Kathua located at Shiva Nagar.
